I have been writing for decades. It began with scribbling little stories in lined, black and white composition notebooks at a very early age; as technology progressed, I advanced to manual typewriter, electric typewriter (when I figured out how to turn the blasted thing on because the switch was below the keyboard, of all places!), word processor and, finally, computer. I published a weekly neighborhood newsletter in my childhood (sometimes the few copies were written by hand!) and I worked on my high school newspaper and yearbook staffs. Eventually, when I went out into the real world and was paid for my "way with words," I was responsible for advertising and promotional copy for a wholesale tour operator, community theater, needlework shop, and art gallery.
Those duties did not adequately fulfill my need to write creatively and, in my free time, I continued to put my heart on paper because I couldn't not write. My fiction and essays have appeared in numerous online websites and newsletters. My poetry has been published in several anthologies, including the one below.
